Job Description – Skilled Construction Worker (Maintenance and Repair Worker – Travelling Handyman)

Job Overview

The company Home Nation is hiring experienced handymen with a background in construction to perform work in various areas, including electrical, plumbing, flooring and tile installation, drywall, painting, finish work, roofing, and general minor repairs. The candidate may also be part of a two-person team.

Work Location

Based in Cocoa Florida , with frequent travel, including to other states. This position requires daily travel, and most of the time will be spent away from the base location. While the base of operations is in the specified city, candidates must be available for frequent travel and work in multiple locations.

Travel Compensation

Travel time will be compensated as overtime if it exceeds 40 hours per week. Additionally, the employer will reimburse for all travel-related expenses, including transportation (e.g., flights or car rentals), lodging, and meals, according to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on residential and commercial properties;
• Execute specialized construction tasks (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, roofing) in compliance with local building codes and regulations;
• Inspect and assess repair needs;
• Provide accurate labor and material estimates; maintain detailed cost records;
• Keep detailed records of all work performed and submit weekly reports to the central office;
• Operate construction hand and power tools;
• Perform basic maintenance on work-related vehicles;
• Meet established deadlines and budget constraints for each job.

Minimum Requirements

• Detailed experience in all construction trades ( Elec, Plumbing, HVAC, ETC.)
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations in the areas of work;
• Possess own tools and a vehicle for transportation;
• Fluency in English and Spanish is essential for communication with the team and clients;
• Basic computer skills for report writing and record keeping;
• Clear communication skills for client and team interaction;
• Availability for frequent travel and out-of-state assignments.

Benefits and Compensation

• Salary: USD 54,163 per year
